Norwegian Government endorses ERTMS implementation
In its revised National Budget presented in May 2016, the Government expect the Parliament to approve an € 2.8bn investment for a country-wide implementation of ERTMS. It means that Norwegian authorities ratify Jernbaneverket’s plans, scope and estimated cost for the ETCS rollout within 2030.
– We received the good news with great joy and humility for the challenge it represents. Our project organisation is very motivated to start the ERTMS rollout together with the supply chain, says Project Manager Eivind Skorstad.
The Parliament’s resolution on the revised National Budget is usually approved before the summer every year.
Prequalification of suppliers
Jernbaneverket is pleased to announce that a prequalification notice for the project ERTMS National Implementation has recently been issued on TED, the website for European public procurement.
The notice marks the official start of the procurement process of an ETCS-based signalling system for the whole railway network in Norway. The procurement includes a new Traffic Management System (TMS) as well as equipping approximately 600 railway vehicles with ETCS.
Presentations from Supplier Conference on the 7th of January 2016
The ERTMS project would like to thank you for attending our supplier conference in Oslo. We have received very positive feedback from most participants, and we interpret it as an endorsement of our initiative of bringing together your expertise around a potential common goal. Our hope is that you all find new opportunities in connection with the ERTMS implementation in Norway.
In this webpage you will find the presentations used at the conference.
Presentation from Supplier Meetings in the autumn 2015
Between October and December 2015 Jernbaneverket carried out several dialogue meetings with some of the major ERTMS suppliers across Europe. The main purpose og these meetings was to facilitate an exchange on technical and commercial matters related to the ERTMS implementation in Norway.
In the right column on this page you will find a copy of the presentation used during the exchange meetings.
Workshop facilities for installation of ERTMS on rolling stock
The ERTMS National Implementation project has issued a rapport regarding the workshop capacity for installation of ERTMS equipment on rolling stock. The rapport brings useful information in connection to the coming procurement and rollout of ERTMS in Norway.
The rapport is based on Jernbaneverket’s current knowledge of the Norwegian workshop facilities for railway, and cannot be assumed to provide a full and complete overview of said market.
Schedule for tendering process
Jernbaneverket would like to inform that the tendering process for the project ERTMS National Implementation has been rescheduled and it will now start in Q1 2016. This change is due to the ongoing external quality assurance of the ERTMS project.
The external quality assurance (KS2) is a procedure required by the Norwegian government for validation of larger public investment projects. The KS2 is an comprehensive procedure and its completion has shown to demand more time than expected.
